Project Life Album :: It’s My Birthday! :: November 2014

It’s my birthday!

It wasn’t super exciting but I love the way the layout came out! We did go to the movies together a few days later and that was really fun. Dumb and Dumber To: if you like ridiculous, you’ll love the movie.

For this layout I used the

Take Ten Kits November 2014 cards: Hello Deer and Green Daisy

Love them!!!

Close up with lots of gold! I just handout the pieces myself: the hearts and the fire on top of the cake candles on the sticker cake and the cake photo.

And I typed out a card to slide behind the daisy card. I just wrote what we did. And I’m real life journaling.

LOVE this deer card so much!

I will only be 52 once. And this was it!

This was a great layout for me to work on. I loved the colors, the photos, the gold, and the funny artwork my friend made for me on the bottom left. #priceless

Project Life Album :: November 2014

Welcome to my November 2014 Project Life 2 page layout!

I am on the Take Ten Kits Creative Team and for this layout

I used several pieces from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit:

We Are Family card, the grey Hearts, the black There Is No Instinct card, the Blue and Grey chevron card as well as pieces from prior month of the Take Ten Kits: wood clouds, sequins, and the Rain or Shine card.

The rest of the pieces are from my stash.

This is the left side of the 2 page layout for my month of November.

I love the We Are Family card and the grey hearts! I cut it down the card to fit in the 3×4 pocket.

Side view of the raised Studio Calico stars.

This is the right side of my 2 page layout.

Love the way this card came out! It’s supposed to be rain but looks like it could even be snow. Its about the first big rain we got- hopefully it helped the drought we’ve had in California.

Side view of the clouds I raised with foam dots, and the sequins I glued down with Stickles. I think I still prefer to sew down the sequins. A few have popped off already.

Love this deer card! Makes it feel like Winter is on it’s way!

My rain trio! I love it. Used the Rhonna Designs app on my iPhone to make the letters on this card and the one on the top left of the other side of this layout.

And here is my final layout for November 2014! I like the colors and the way they all go together!

Project Life Album :: Flashback: Plugged In! :: October Kit 2014

This was a very easy yet colorful layout!

I used 2 Take Ten Kit cards: Plugged In, from a prior month, and

the bright leaves from this months’ kit

Also from Take Ten Kits October 2014:

wood veneer leaf, orange leaf acrylic and the striped wash tape

Love the wash and orange leaf! And the Plugged In card from a prior kit is so relevant right now!

Colorful leaves and wood veneer leaf were perfect together and made the layout so cozy.

I love the way my Plugged In layout came out!

This layout will face the Pie layout featured in another blog post- look for it!

Take Ten Kits are so versatile and pieces can be used for other months, too. Take Ten Kits has a Facebook page, as well as a website:

http://www.studio29designs.com

Kits are only $10, with no subscription and you can opt out any month and get the next month’s kit with no problem! I love TTK’s because I don’t have a large amount of product leftover to pile up.

Project Life Album :: Moving Back to the Dorm! :: September 2014

My daughter moves back to the dorm! I know she looks forward to having her independence while she’s there.

For this 2 page 12×12 layout I used the Take Ten Kit for September 2014 and it was perfect!

The pieces from the kit: Wood and enamel chevron pieces Sequins Stamps Flair and cards! Rainbow, 4×6 Someday, Week of, and Rainbow Triangles , 3×4

I love these new wood and enamel pieces! And the sequins add to the beautiful colors in the September Kit. The alphas are from a prior month’s kit.

I sewed the sequins onto the paper. I stacked 2 sequins and topped with a tiny bead- just ran the thread through all three and tied it behind the card. I also taped down the thread for security. The quote: ‘Someday is right now.’ reminds me that every day is special and the photos help remind us that we celebrated the everyday. The big and small occasions of life. I want to remember them all.

Here’s a side view of the sewn sequins. This is the first time I’ve used a Week Of card since I do monthly but it was perfect for the week she moved back to the dorm. I cut down both cards to fit my horizontal pockets.

The rainbow triangles and the rainbow chevron pieces- oh! the colors! I needed to see them together! And not covered. They are brilliant.

Funny sign in the dorm when they arrived. She’s in an all girl, 4 room dorm. The ‘#’ stamp is from a prior kit, and part of the ‘#selfie’ stamp.

I am fairly new to Project Life- coming up to my one year anniversary of doing pocket scrapbooking- and i am really new to stamping. First time stamping a photo. A little shaky but I still like the way it looks. And the Happy Flair was perfect. I have not seen her on screen before so I was happy.

This is the other side to the 2 page 12×12 layout. She’s moved into the dorm, started classes and rehearsal, and came home for a family dinner. Both younger kids started school: sophomore in college and sophomore in high school!

I LOVE the #selfie stamp from a prior month. It’s so current and trendy. And people are still taking selfies- maybe more now than before!

More sewn on sequins and stamping. From the kit: Sequins Rainbow Stripes, 3×4

Perfect sign to end my layout. Good thing I looked up and noticed it! I love using my Tiny Attacher to attach a few little things. A little more fun than a normal size stapler. Why? Maybe because it’s tiny. And new. The chevron wood pieces are from the kit and the alphas are from a prior kit.

It’s always so satisfying finishing a new layout! And I like using lots of pieces from one kit on one layout! It challenges me out of my comfort zone of being a new pocket scrapbooker. Trying new things!

I love having my Take Ten Kits subscription! They have so many fun pieces and it’s always exciting to see what it’s going to be about. And they always have add ons which are fun to look at and choose if I want.

And the best part of Take Ten Kits is:

There is no subscription contract! Sign up to get on the list and if you see the kit and want it after reveal, then buy it. If you don’t, then you can pass and let someone else on the list have it. Then next month, well, you still have your same number in line, and same thing: if you want it, great, and if you don’t, that’s ok, too!! You will love it. I haven’t passed yet. And it’s not a ton of stuff that it starts to pile up- and I appreciate that part of it.

$10 Take Ten Kits…TEN dollars!!

Here is the September 2014 Take Ten Kit:

The many faces of her, the actor.

My daughter as a little girl. She entertained me and let me dress her up in my things and take lots of photos of her.

The actor: the hair for The Misanthrope, the hat for A Christmas Carol and fantasy make-up ‘Red Panda’. She’s my little big star.

These 2 pages will face each other in my 12×12 album.

The 5 of Us: Someone said we looked like a hipster family. (embarrassing)

A cousin wanted to take a photo of us because we all had our glasses on, which we didn’t realize. Kind of embarrassing to be called a hipster family at a party. It’s a great photo, though.

And the second photo is one of the 5 of us at my youngest’s birthday party. We don’t have all the same schedule so we have to make a date in advance to get together as a family. And the rule is now that we must take a family selfie. I love them.

These two 12×12 pages will face each other in my 12×12 album.

The 19th birthday: the family goes out for dinner.

My daughter’s 19th birthday. We drove up to her university and had dinner with her. We had a great time and try to take a family selfie if we remember. One day we all won’t be able to get together on a regular basis so when we do, I try to get a family selfie. Why not?

I always want to remember these days. They’re so fleeting and children do grow up and move on with their lives. I’m saving a matching piece of paper to make a facing page of…who knows what.

The 15th birthday: Remember this

My son. Smart, handsome, funny- I love making pages about my kids- who aren’t really kids anymore. But they will always be my kids to me.

These elements all mean something to me about my son, about being a boy, fun, funny, chores list, March is a lucky month, green, feathers and how I want to remember it all.

The 15th birthday and the At the lake pages will face each other in my 12×12 album.
