Take Ten Kits Creative Team :: Resolutions kit :: January 2015

Take Ten Kits Creative Team member here!

This is one of the first layouts in my 2015 Project Life Album.

I used the Take Ten Kits December 2014 kit. I loved how the colors are bright and have a feeling of a positive 2015. I am 52 years old and I believe that selfies are an important part of my albums since it is basically a photo journal of the life I share with my family as well as a couple of friends.

The rainbow cards are from the Take Ten Kits, as well as the 2 tiny arrows.

I used leftover pink paper to tie the rainbow pockets and the pink ones together.

The top card lists the best parts of 2014. The lower card I write about living each day without planning too far into the future. I like to tackle each day as it shows up.

Oh, the things I resolve to do! So far I have not been successful in any of them but it’s only the third week of January so I still have some time. 🙂

I resolve to (dot, dot, dot)

This was one of the easiest layouts I’ve ever done. And one of the brightest. I like the way the bold Sharpie looks on the bottom numbered Take Ten Kits card.

I wish you a very successful 2015! And enjoy working on your Project Life album. Jump right in and get stuff done!

Project Life :: Days of December: Last transparency :: 2014

My last transparency for my Days of December album pages.

It’s about a 6×6 piece with a 3×3 photo of my lovable old pug Neumann.

And then you flip it over and there I am. Wishing you a lovely 2015.

Happy New Year…one more time!

Project Life :: 40 Days of December (it’s my version) :: 2014

Welcome to my *FiRsT EvEr* Days of December 2014!

Let me first say that I had no idea what I was doing. This is only my first Project Life album. Well, it was going in my PL album for 2014. I was hearing about all kinds of projects to do and pockets to make all year so it doesn’t surprise me that I got confused. So, in an earlier post about my ’17 Days of Thankful’ (see earlier blog post) I explained that I heard about the 30 Days of Thankful and then a few weeks later I heard about December Daily. Seriously…in my head I thought they were the same thing!! So, I mapped mine all out. Starting with Thanksgiving, right? Thankful? Made sense to me. So then I decided to go until January 5th, which is the day my youngest returns to high school. So I would get the entire holiday season. So I gave a pocket for each of the now 40 Days…of Thankful? December Daily Thankful? Daily Thankful? Holiday Daily? In my head (I’m in my head a lot), I had it all covered and then I saw new posts and I realize that it’s 2 separate projects. Not only that but people make a totally separate album for December Daily. Well, I have a 12×12 that I keep all of my Christmases in (I’m working on our 5th Christmas album) so there was no way I was going to make another album. I decided to leave my now 40 Days (of Crazy) in the 2014 album, and a pocket a day was great for me. So, that’s what I did. And it’s finished!! I kinda like this way of doing it and I just might do another 40 Days in 2015!

I saw that other people were making little added ‘pages’ with transparencies and I really liked the look of it so I added a few in my album.

Here are pages 1 & 2, November 27 – December 7th, minus the transparency.

My title pocket!

I decided to use gold pieces here and there.

Thanksgiving Weekend!

We don’t have an Elf but I saw this photo and I had to add it to my album. For some reason it reminds me of the naughtiness of the childhood of my now 15 year old.

I loved the Freckled Fawn Embellishment kit that I got from Take Ten Kits! http://www.thestudio29design.com

Here’s a better photo of my first transparency in my album.

Here are pages 3 & 4, December 8 – 20.

I was so happy to find lots of pink for my DD album!

Here’s another transparency- pink! And a ‘Have a Holly…’ tag!

Oh, I love these 3 pockets together!

I made 2 tabs for the transparencies. (I really like that word- transparencies)

Christmas cookies!

Christmas Morning!

New Year’s Eve!

Happy New Year!

(I may have over bought for this year…looks like I’ll HAVE to do it again next year!)

I had a great time making these pages in 2014 and I’m sure I’ll make them again in 2015!

Thanks for looking! I wish you a fabulous 2015!

Take Ten Kits :: Project Life :: Happy New Year! :: January 2015

Happy New Year!

It’s almost 2015. I’m always so excited when I get my kit that I make a layout usually pretty quickly after it comes. I like to make my layouts in advance. It motivates me to look at it and think about the pocket shapes I need to fill. This month’s Take Ten Kit December 2014 kit was perfect! I like all of the cards and the colors.

Above is the left side of my 2 page January 2015 layout.

:: :: ::

I cut up several cards to make this layout.

Even though I haven’t seen snow in about 7 years I still like the snowy, white, glittery, winter theme. So, to tie together all of the pieces, you will see that I put little bits of glitter paper here and there.

I wanted to use this TTK blue ‘Brand New Year’ card so I cut it up and spread it out. I didn’t want to cover it with a photo!

I love this TTK grey arrow acrylic!

In my mind these little white glitter dots are little snowflakes. And again, I live in California where it doesn’t snow.

For the little dots I just used 2 sizes of a hole punch and used what came out.

The photo above is the right side of my January 2015 2 page layout using the December 2014 Take Ten Kit.

The ‘I Love The Person I’ve Become’ card from TTK December 2014 kit!

This card and star clip is from Take Ten Kits at http://www.thestudio29design.com

Sometimes we are afraid of doing some things. Hopefully this card will help us to remember through the year to do what we’re scared of.

This card from Take Ten Kits goes perfectly with my ‘Wish it snowed in California’ theme. Again, I used the dots that came out from 2 different sized hole punches.

Here is the layout in my Project Life Album for my pocket scrapbook layouts. I had these month layout dividers from a gift so I thought I’d use them. Luckily for me, this one matched!

Below is the entire Take Ten Kits December 2014 kit! I’m saving the other pieces for an upcoming layout. The ‘He Said, She Said’ cards look perfect for my wedding anniversary in February… And #Selfie? I could use that EVeRy month!!

Take Ten Kits :: Project Life :: First page of my new album! :: January 2015

A New Beginning!

This is a Take Ten Kits December 2014 card. It inspired my front page layout for my 2015 Project Life Album. I LOVE it!!

I decided to be bright and cheerful for my first page. My 2014 front page was more subdued. This will only be my 2nd PL Album. But I have documented ALL of my layouts so far in my blog here.

So I found this card at Michael’s, I believe it’s Heidi Swapp. It’s a flip up card and the last paper of the card fits into one of the 4×4 pockets.

I love the Hello. Perfect for the new beginning of 2015.

The Thickers are from a previous month of Take Ten Kits.

The stamps are FaBuLoUs and I love the way the handwriting looks fancy! I really have no idea what to do for stamping but I’m working on it.

Here’s a side view of the flip card.

First and second cards flipped up with the stamp.

And what the last paper looks like sitting in the bottom 4×4 pocket.

And the Take Ten Kits December 2014 card that started it all! I love it.

Now all I have to do is think about the journaling I’m going to write for . . .

My year

My resolution

and

My revolution!

You can find Take Ten Kits on Facebook: Take Ten Kits – just ask to join the group and you can go to their website to check out all of their past kits and see if you like them! The 2014 price for the kits is $10. TEN dollars! It’s unbelievable. But you need to get on the list for them.

The December 2014 kit was just released!

Project Life Album :: My Son’s 30th Birthday :: December 2014

It’s so tempting to use Christmasy colors when I plan out his birthday. So even though this fabulous paper has deer on it, it is not Christmas. What a big birthday. For both of us!

I love these photos so much for the late 1980’s. We had fun shooting them in the country where my grandparents lived and where I was born. He was my #1 baby and all we had for 10 years. #spoiled

More of the photos from his birthday and the photo shoot.

I look pretty silly in this photo, watching my son on his birthday. To me it looks like I have a sappy face. I was just happy to be sharing his birthday with him one more year.

My son had a nice birthday. Gifts he liked, will use and was happy with. That’s always a win.

Project Life Album :: 40 Days of the Holiday Season: Thanksgiving to Christmas :: 2014

Wait..’30 Days of ..’ starts today?!

For some reason when I read ’30 Days of..’ and ‘Dec Daily’ I thought they were the same thing.ish.

Why? I have no idea. I guess it’s the way my brain works. So, I thought the ’30 Days’ thing started at Thanksgiving to go until Christmas (because the word ‘thanks’ was involved). So, because fun here doesn’t start until Thanksgiving (the kids are home then Christmas prep begins). So I decided to do 40 Days. Yes, 40. But if you do ’30 Days of Thanks’ and then ‘Dec Daily’, it’s actually more than 40 days so I’m not doing too bad. I’m just doing it all together. For a big ’40 Days of Thankfulness’. It’ll go in my regular PL album. And I’ll do whatever I am thankful each day, probably. So I’m doing Thanksgiving until my son goes back to school on January something. This is my start pocket and I’m saving matching papers for the last day.

Also, my PL album is just about me and what I like about life. And I do monthly and add special event or occasion pages, if needed. I have a separate 12×12 family Christmas album and the kids have their own 12×12 albums.

Happy November to all! And may you all be less confused than I am!
