First sneak peek!! I’m on the Creative Team again for Take Ten Kits!! So excited!

My first blog post for Take Ten Kits at The Studio 29 Designs!

This is my first sneak peek for the Take Ten Kits ‘My Story’ January kit!

This card and the sequins come in this month’s kit! I have not see these color sequins before so I was excited to use them. I sew them on with a tiny clear bead so they don’t fall off. The I tape the thread down on the back of the card.

See my new blog post on the Take Ten Kits website and see all of the Creative Team’s sneak peeks at the Take Ten Kits website and fan page:

Project Life Album :: November 2014

Welcome to my November 2014 Project Life 2 page layout!

I am on the Take Ten Kits Creative Team and for this layout

I used several pieces from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit:

We Are Family card, the grey Hearts, the black There Is No Instinct card, the Blue and Grey chevron card as well as pieces from prior month of the Take Ten Kits: wood clouds, sequins, and the Rain or Shine card.

The rest of the pieces are from my stash.

This is the left side of the 2 page layout for my month of November.

I love the We Are Family card and the grey hearts! I cut it down the card to fit in the 3×4 pocket.

Side view of the raised Studio Calico stars.

This is the right side of my 2 page layout.

Love the way this card came out! It’s supposed to be rain but looks like it could even be snow. Its about the first big rain we got- hopefully it helped the drought we’ve had in California.

Side view of the clouds I raised with foam dots, and the sequins I glued down with Stickles. I think I still prefer to sew down the sequins. A few have popped off already.

Love this deer card! Makes it feel like Winter is on it’s way!

My rain trio! I love it. Used the Rhonna Designs app on my iPhone to make the letters on this card and the one on the top left of the other side of this layout.

And here is my final layout for November 2014! I like the colors and the way they all go together!

Check out Take Ten Kits on Facebook as well as their website: http://www.studio29design.com

Project Life Album :: Halloween Flashback! :: October 2014

Halloween! Years gone by. Little kids now grown. I’m the mom- I can indulge in old, adorable photos of my kids.

ALL of the pieces I used are from the Take Ten Kits October Kit by Studio 29 Design. The wood pieces: pumpkin, jack o’lantern and labels, from a prior month, I used for name tags. Also from Take Ten Kits: sequins that I sewed on. Also from the kit this month: the adorable cards: black card with moon and bats and the pink princess ‘Trick or Treat’. The papers mats are just papers from my stash. And I found a matching pink paper to match the prunes card. I love the way it came out. Black, white, and pink- interesting colors for a Halloween layout!

Left side:

I love this page! I sew my sequins on cause I want them to stay on.

That jack o’lantern wood piece by Take Ten Kits is FaBuLoUS!!! And more sequin sewing.

The moon card!!! I love it!! Also by Take Ten Kits! Find them here: http://www.studio29design.com

I LOVE this card, too! It works even in a ‘non-Halloween’ color. I like that the Take Ten Kits puts untraditional pieces in the monthly kits. I also sewed sequins, layered them and a bead on top!

Sequn on the tooth! I couldn’t resist. I like it.

Right side:

Adorable Halloween kids.

I love this pumpkin wood piece. And I love it just the way it is. The letters are from a prior kit.

The wood label is from a prior Take Ten Kits.

Sequins on the eyes. Just for fun.

IMG_4872 It’s funny when you wear a costume like this, even your best friend could walk by you and not know who you are. That happened when she wore this costume to her school Halloween party.

I LOVE my Take Ten Kits subscription!!

It’s only $10 with no commitment. You just ask to be on the Take Ten Kits Facebook page group OR go to their website and message her from there. You get all kinds of goodies including stamps that are exclusive to Take Ten Kits. Also, I really like that the kits are manageable and you don’t have a bunch of products laying around and building up.

Try it for a month- you’ll like it!

Project Life :: A Week in the Life :: September 2014

This was my first A Week in the Life layout! It was fun choosing a ‘theme’ and I decided that I wanted to try the ‘sherbet colors’ look that using the Rhonna Designs app for iPhones gives. My life isn’t perfect and I’m not into making it look like it’s perfect so I knew this would be interesting. But my life is also a little slow since my kids are just about grown so it was going to be, as all of my Project Life layouts are, All About Me.

My entire color inspiration came from the A Week in the Life card! I just loved it and I didn’t even know the card was in a set I had.

Sherbet-y colors! Yummy.

The first part of my A Life in the Week:

Sunday: The first day of my week. It was about cleaning up party messes. And my cat Chloe, I tried to make it look like it was all her fault, but it wasn’t.

Sunday: My husband congratulates me with a balloon from his birthday. Apparently, I rock because I get to renew my driver’s license through the mail.

Monday: I ate ice cream that I’m not supposed to and I think that’s photo worthy.

Tuesday: First day of Autumn was spent doing lots of chores instead of my list because I was without a car (smog). Ugh.

(I still haven’t finished everything on this list, 2 weeks later)

Tuesday: My son’s artwork was chosen to be used for this Touming Magazine 7″ vinyl. Very exciting!!

And the second half of my A Week in the Life:

Wednesday: I celebrated the First Day of Autumn today since I got my car back. I pulled this shirt out of my ‘get rid of’ bag and decided to wear it and I tackled my huge list. P.S. At the end of the day I remembered why this shirt was in the get rid of bag: it sucks. The collar is limp and it’s ill-fitting. It goes back in!

Classic me motto: Do it anyway. And, yes, I Instagrammed it. My husband and I made these paper feathers. I cut and painted them, and my husband sewed them. I think they came out pretty cool.

Thursday: I went to our pharmacy, cleaned up and decorated for Fall while my husband worked.

Friday: I packed up more of my Creative Memories products that I sold online. At this point, I just want to get rid of what I won’t use! Off to the post office I went. Saturday: I did some things around the house and then went to mass. I heard this reading today and it meant a lot to me on this afternoon. Now if I could just convince this for others…

Saturday: After mass, I went home, helped my son get ready for the dance and I drove him out there. And then in a few hours, I drove back out, picked him up and took him to In and Out for after-dance food. And I sold more of my items so it was a win-win day, week…all of it. My life may be slow and boring but it’s MY slow and boring. And I won’t bother you with another ‘Week in My Life’ again for awhile. You’re welcome!

It was fun, colorful, new, and I had a great time documenting every little bit. Yes, it’s only two pages- I told you my life was slow! 🙂

Project Life Album :: Moving Back to the Dorm! :: September 2014

My daughter moves back to the dorm! I know she looks forward to having her independence while she’s there.

For this 2 page 12×12 layout I used the Take Ten Kit for September 2014 and it was perfect!

The pieces from the kit: Wood and enamel chevron pieces Sequins Stamps Flair and cards! Rainbow, 4×6 Someday, Week of, and Rainbow Triangles , 3×4

I love these new wood and enamel pieces! And the sequins add to the beautiful colors in the September Kit. The alphas are from a prior month’s kit.

I sewed the sequins onto the paper. I stacked 2 sequins and topped with a tiny bead- just ran the thread through all three and tied it behind the card. I also taped down the thread for security. The quote: ‘Someday is right now.’ reminds me that every day is special and the photos help remind us that we celebrated the everyday. The big and small occasions of life. I want to remember them all.

Here’s a side view of the sewn sequins. This is the first time I’ve used a Week Of card since I do monthly but it was perfect for the week she moved back to the dorm. I cut down both cards to fit my horizontal pockets.

The rainbow triangles and the rainbow chevron pieces- oh! the colors! I needed to see them together! And not covered. They are brilliant.

Funny sign in the dorm when they arrived. She’s in an all girl, 4 room dorm. The ‘#’ stamp is from a prior kit, and part of the ‘#selfie’ stamp.

I am fairly new to Project Life- coming up to my one year anniversary of doing pocket scrapbooking- and i am really new to stamping. First time stamping a photo. A little shaky but I still like the way it looks. And the Happy Flair was perfect. I have not seen her on screen before so I was happy.

This is the other side to the 2 page 12×12 layout. She’s moved into the dorm, started classes and rehearsal, and came home for a family dinner. Both younger kids started school: sophomore in college and sophomore in high school!

I LOVE the #selfie stamp from a prior month. It’s so current and trendy. And people are still taking selfies- maybe more now than before!

More sewn on sequins and stamping. From the kit: Sequins Rainbow Stripes, 3×4

Perfect sign to end my layout. Good thing I looked up and noticed it! I love using my Tiny Attacher to attach a few little things. A little more fun than a normal size stapler. Why? Maybe because it’s tiny. And new. The chevron wood pieces are from the kit and the alphas are from a prior kit.

It’s always so satisfying finishing a new layout! And I like using lots of pieces from one kit on one layout! It challenges me out of my comfort zone of being a new pocket scrapbooker. Trying new things!

I love having my Take Ten Kits subscription! They have so many fun pieces and it’s always exciting to see what it’s going to be about. And they always have add ons which are fun to look at and choose if I want.

Take Ten Kits: http://www.thestudio29designs.com

And the best part of Take Ten Kits is:

There is no subscription contract! Sign up to get on the list and if you see the kit and want it after reveal, then buy it. If you don’t, then you can pass and let someone else on the list have it. Then next month, well, you still have your same number in line, and same thing: if you want it, great, and if you don’t, that’s ok, too!! You will love it. I haven’t passed yet. And it’s not a ton of stuff that it starts to pile up- and I appreciate that part of it.

$10 Take Ten Kits…TEN dollars!!

Here is the September 2014 Take Ten Kit:

My first shaker pocket.

My First Shaker Pocket!

This little shaker pocket will slip in a PL pocket to be viewed from both sides. So, I printed 2 of each: photo and the tiny chalkboard print and adhered them back to back. I used a tiny bit of clear adhesive to stick them in place to everything else can shake around them. I didn’t want everything to fall of the bottom of the shaker. My husband sewed it for me. I can’t do it for some reason! I think it came out great. Probably won’t do another for quite awhile.
