Project Life Album :: #17DaysOfThankful (it’s my version) :: November 2014

For this project I decided to use the perfect pieces from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit. I love the colors! And the images! They’re beautiful and perfect for what I was going to do.

This started with me misunderstanding, as usual, something I knew nothing about. I thought I understood it but clearly I did not.

There are TWO things: 30 Days of Thankful and December Daily. I thought there was only one thing. I thought it started on Thanksgiving, hence the Thankful, and went all the way through Christmas. There was the December, too, so I thought the Thankful, the December, oh, I had it all mixed up! So, without realizing it, I went on with my planning. I counted and I came up with 40 Days. 40 Days of…Crazy, I decided.

So suddenly it was November 1st and everyone was talking about 30 Days of Thankful and I decided to jump right in- even though I was starting again on Thanksgiving, I wanted to do this along with everyone else. Until the 17th. So, I used the Collect app for this experiment. And I loved it! I love the clean look of it, which is typically the opposite of what I normally do. I love color.

Anyway, I decided to jump in on November 1st. And to go only through November 17th. So it would be 17 Days of Thankful. Why? because the 18th is my birthday and that would be a whole separate page. I would then take a break until Thanksgiving and start my 40 Days of Crazy.

Welcome to my 17 Days of Thankful! (just pretend it’s a thing)

This is the left side of my 2 page layout.

Here is the card for November 1st from the Collect app I have on my iPhone. It keeps an image for each day and you can make a note on it. The app collects it in calendar form, which I love!

This is an adorable metal coffee cup paper clip thingy! It was in the Take Ten Kits for November 2014. Perfect for my Day 1.

The Grateful and the Take Note card are both from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit. Beautiful colors and images!

My calico Chloe. I had to keep shooing her away cause she really wanted to just lie on top of my Project Life album! I don’t even want to think about the cat hair sticking to everything, the pockets, the static, ugh!! Shoo! Chloe! Get away! She was terribly frightened- can’t you tell?

The Good Stuff card is also from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit. Fabulous for my 17 Days of Thankful! Because the everyday stuff we are thankful for really is the Good Stuff.

This is the right side of my 2 page layout.

The Deer card and the Thankful card are also from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit.

Thankful. I really am.

Here is both pages of the 2 page layout for my #17DaysOfThankful. I had a great time with this project and I need a break until my #40DaysofCrazy.

Project Life Album :: Thanksgiving 2014

This is my layout for Thanksgiving!

Each of us cooks for dinner. It didn’t start out this way but as time goes on and the kids get older, they take on helping make the dinner. The one time all year that all of us cook.

My husband and son make Apple Pies, my other son make fancy Pigs in a Blanket with pesto and gouda, my daughter makes my mother’s Sweet Potato Rolls, and I make the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry and orange sauce, and peas with basil. It is a delicious dinner.

This is the left side of my 2 page layout.

This wood piece is from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 add-ons!

I love it!!

This is the right side of my 2 page layout.

Typing out our menu made it look fancy. 🙂

Typing out our Thanksgiving menu made it look fancy. 🙂

And here are the 2 pages side by side, the way they sit in my 2014 album. I like the way all of the browns make it look very November and very Thanksgiving.

This was a very simple layout that didn’t take much time at all!

Project Life Album :: November 2014

Welcome to my November 2014 Project Life 2 page layout!

I am on the Take Ten Kits Creative Team and for this layout

I used several pieces from the Take Ten Kits November 2014 kit:

We Are Family card, the grey Hearts, the black There Is No Instinct card, the Blue and Grey chevron card as well as pieces from prior month of the Take Ten Kits: wood clouds, sequins, and the Rain or Shine card.

The rest of the pieces are from my stash.

This is the left side of the 2 page layout for my month of November.

I love the We Are Family card and the grey hearts! I cut it down the card to fit in the 3×4 pocket.

Side view of the raised Studio Calico stars.

This is the right side of my 2 page layout.

Love the way this card came out! It’s supposed to be rain but looks like it could even be snow. Its about the first big rain we got- hopefully it helped the drought we’ve had in California.

Side view of the clouds I raised with foam dots, and the sequins I glued down with Stickles. I think I still prefer to sew down the sequins. A few have popped off already.

Love this deer card! Makes it feel like Winter is on it’s way!

My rain trio! I love it. Used the Rhonna Designs app on my iPhone to make the letters on this card and the one on the top left of the other side of this layout.

And here is my final layout for November 2014! I like the colors and the way they all go together!

Project Life Album :: October 2014

The month of October! What a fun month it was to choose the colors and cards for. Plus it’s fall- a new season, a new beginning. And apparently I love a patchwork of colors.

This is the left side of the double 12×12 October 2014 layout in my Project Life album.

I love using small pieces of paper and my Tiny Attacher.

The World Series- the amazing games they played! And babysitting a tortoise. (He is pretty cute.)

My first Project Life kit: Holidays and Seasons. I actually bought two and I’m still using both. I like the colors and the fonts.

This is the right side of the 12×12 double October 2014 layout.

I have a tag for every month to summarize what I did, and what the family did that month.

The tags can slide in and out. This month’s tag even has sequins and beads.

For this month, I also made a slide card for Halloween- just for fun. Text on one side and a photo on the other. I also used more sequins and beads on the skeleton eyes.

Driving a few hours out to visit our 99 year old aunt. I thought it would be fun to add a geotag to indicate a new location.

Here are both pages, side by side. The way they sit in my Project Life album. I think it looks very autumn-y. Happy Fall!

Project Life Album :: Good Times with Friends :: October 2014

It’s October! This was a two unexpected events that just happened to come a few weeks apart, with the same old family friends that we have known forever.

My husband’s family and his best friend’s family owned orchards on land next to each other. They had a pretty unusual childhood compared to mine. To be free to play, run, and do bad things together in acres of beautiful fruit trees.

My layout is pretty simple. The lines from the stamps next to the letters drive me crazy. Maybe those stamps aren’t the best ones to use but I tried!

My husband, right, his best friend in the middle, and his cousin on the left. They were talking about the time their high school baseball team played against Barry Bonds. And one day he came into our pharmacy! Crazy coincidence. The bottom photo is with a woman that I know from my daughter’s high school. Our daughters were best friends, are still best friends.

Three important, really great women. I love them.

To remember the reason for the great get together, I printed photos from the luncheon and made them about 2″ small!

And we hadn’t seen this family of friends in a few years. It was great catching up with all of them.

I love the center cards. They really capture the feel of family (yes, I consider them family!) and autumn.

This layout will be on the left side of these 2 separate layouts in my Project Life album.

We had a busy October!

Project Life Album :: Flashback: Adventure Awaits! :: October 2014

For this layout I used the Take Ten Kits October 2014 Kit!

Probably the fastest layout I’ve ever done: simple, sweet and lots of color.

Outdoors and woodsy. I love how they used photograph cards in this kit. Perfect for fall photos.

I used white letters to match the white letters on the lower corner.

Love the wood veneer key! I attach it with a somewhat stiff wire- I just wrapped it around and around, poking through the paper.

Thanks Take Ten Kits for making my layout super easy.

I love the way it looks!

Project Life Album :: Flashback: Plugged In! :: October Kit 2014

This was a very easy yet colorful layout!

I used 2 Take Ten Kit cards: Plugged In, from a prior month, and

the bright leaves from this months’ kit

Also from Take Ten Kits October 2014:

wood veneer leaf, orange leaf acrylic and the striped wash tape

Love the wash and orange leaf! And the Plugged In card from a prior kit is so relevant right now!

Colorful leaves and wood veneer leaf were perfect together and made the layout so cozy.

I love the way my Plugged In layout came out!

This layout will face the Pie layout featured in another blog post- look for it!

Take Ten Kits are so versatile and pieces can be used for other months, too. Take Ten Kits has a Facebook page, as well as a website:

Kits are only $10, with no subscription and you can opt out any month and get the next month’s kit with no problem! I love TTK’s because I don’t have a large amount of product leftover to pile up.

Project Life Album :: Flashback: Let’s Bake a Pie :: October 2014

This layout makes me feel and warm and fuzzy. My husband is the one who makes pie.

And the only pie he makes is his recipe for

::  Rustic Country Apple Pie  ::

And he always makes it on Thanksgiving.

For this layout I used the Take Ten Kit for October 2014.

More FaBuLoUs pieces: cards: Be Grateful, Fall Favorites and the Joy quote card.

The wood pieces: leaf, autumn, and Bushels of Fun banner

And the wash and Fun clip are also from this month. The little red chevron enamel is from a prior month’s kit.

Fall Favorites Take Ten Kits card. So many great things happen in the fall!

My son loves to help his dad make the pie! As you can tell by his face he is definitely having fun. Fun clip in October 2014 kit.

The final touches before the pies go into the oven. This is a serious job! And he’s having Bushels of fun. Card from this month’s Take Ten Kit.

Washi, Grateful card as well as the wood leaf are all from this month’s kit!

This Joy card is from this month’s take Ten Kit. At this time of year sometimes it’s easy to compare traditions that other people have that you may think are better or more fun. The grass is not greener on the other side. I looked. 🙂

The pies are soooo delicious!!! I’m so glad we all go to the trouble to make this day special. It’s usually just the 5 of us and with our busy schedules it’s nice to just have each other to concentrate on. The autumn wood piece is from October 2014’s Take Ten Kit.

I love this 2 page layout. My first time using the pages with the 4×4 pockets. I had to cut down the Joy card- I had to! I love it so much!

This Pie page will face the Plugged In page. You can find that page in another blog post: check it out!

Thank you take Ten Kits for another great kit!
