Project Life :: My Version of That One Little Word :: January 2015

I loved the idea of the One Little Word by Ali Edwards but it wasn’t exactly what I was thinking of. I needed something new, something that wasn’t open for all to see what I wrote.

So I wrote bible quotes that I love, quotes that mean something to me, ones that I wanted to write why they meant something to me, and what the situation was that made me love it.

My word was Faith.

And I wrote the definition and used alphas to highlight my word.

This is what the back of my tags look like. I am not quite finished with them, but the year’s not over yet, right? 🙂

Then they slide right back into their pockets.

I hope if you find a project that you love but don’t like that particular process that you adapt it to what you want it to be. It’s your album, your life – make it yours!

Project Life :: Goodnight, Sweet Neumann :: October 2015

We had Nuemann since he was a little, chubby 8 weeks old Pug puppy. He was 15 years old this month. We will miss him.

He was 15 years old on the left, and 13 on the right.

We had a great time with him.

Here he is with his sister Pearl. She was adorable. They were only 6 months apart and always together.

She was mostly deaf and blind in one eye so she followed Neumann everywhere he went. They loved each other. But they’re together again and running free. We enjoyed them for so many years. For that I am thankful.

Project Life :: College Visit :: October 2015

Sure, he’s only a junior but it’s never too early to look at colleges.

Especially if it’s in San Francisco.

Yes, it was foggy. But it cleared up.

The grey-brown cards from Becky Higgin’s Prismatic and Picturesque kits are perfect for this city layout.

I used some rose gold dotted wash tape and a few puffy stickers.

And to finish it off, a trusty date stamp.

One college down, several more to go.

Project Life :: Ace gets his first haircut :: 2015

Ace is a dog from the Korean dog meat market. Gross, I know. He was rescued by DPS Rescue in California. He was quarantined in Korea, and then brought to San Francisco. We were his foster family and, of course, we couldn’t give him up! He’s been with us since May 30, 2015.

When DPS rescued Ace he had lived in a cage for his first 3 years. He was completely covered by matted hair so, of course, he needed to be shaved before they started taking care of his health.

So THiS was his first haircut. When we first fostered him he had short hair and grew to be so fluffy! And he was given the cutest haircut- he looked like a whole new little pup!

We LOVE Ace and highly recommend DPS Rescue in California. They not only rescue dogs from Korea, but also dogs from the high kill shelters in Southern California, as well as rescues in Silicon Valley. They have adoptions every weekend in Palo Alto and it’s always very exciting!

All rescues are fostered, loved, taught how to be pets, walked on a leash, socialized with whatever animals they are fostered with

Take Ten Kits Creative Team :: Celebrate kit :: My Garden Burst Open! :: March 2015

The new Take Ten Kits March 2015 kit Celebrate is FaBuLoUs!!!

For this layout I used 2 of the 3×4 cards: Green Stripe and the Little Things. I also used the custom Emoji stamp designed by Take Ten Kits owner and designer Sara Mitchell! I also used enamel dots from a prior TTK. I used the wood grain paper, other green paper and more dots from my stash.

We had rain for a week or so and then a few warm days and when I went outside my front door, my garden had burst! The flowers were all opening! I guess spring came early to California this year.

I LOVE this card- I wish I had more than one.

The little dots are cute and they add a little dimension.

I cut this 4×6 in half-ish and added the date I went out into the garden. I decided to do the journaling in my own writing which I don’t do a lot.

The emoji stamps are so cute! And they’re big, which I like.

Oh! So many feelings when I saw the opened flowers in the garden. Unfortunately, even though I take allergy medicine every day, I started sneezing and sneezing so I went back inside.

I really enjoyed using these pieces in this layout. I have many more pieces left to use in a different Celebrate layout!!
